The Cost of Air Conditioning Versus the Cost of Violence
In a given year, about a hundred ten million prisoner days would be in this very hot, kind of vulnerable temperature range. And we find that there would be an additional or thousand acts of extreme violence each year from that additional heat. So certainly, i think if we were to think about the cost of air conditioning versus the cost of violence, one could make the argument that these investments are worth while.
