What Is the Current State of Chinese Development Financing?
Eric Liu: We track China's overseas development finance, sovereign finance from their development finance institutions. Over that whole time period, it's about $500 billion or about 83% of what the World Bank lent in that same time period. But as you said, in the last few years, it has dramatically slowed. In the last two years that we have data for 2020, 2021, it slowed down to just a total of 10 and a half billion in that time period.
