Is Containment Viable in Dealing With Russia?

i was curious whether the cold war tegy of containment could be making come back in dealing with russia going forward. I think at this point, as we really don't know, ain't, because we've only seen one facet of this conflict so far. We weren't preparing for this. There wasn't a plan. The pain is going to be real. And that, i think, where the cost will be borne overwhelmingly by europe.
