"I don't consider myself a game feel designer, right? Because the moment to moment game feel is not like my expertise," he says. "What I find myself leaning towards often is starting with what experience you want a player to have." He also loves horror because it's about disempowering players and giving them power over other people. The way systems are designed can tell stories in different ways than how they're written.
