The anarcho syndicalist union became sort of microcosm of the new society. It was hugely hugely challenging for the authorities and so, you know what you see all the way through the 1920s up to the Second World War is really an attempt to stamp down and crush those revolutionary syndicalist unions. And it's really through to the Spanish Revolution, right where you had two million anarchists in the CNT. You know, this was, you know, there's an existential threat to Europe. The Africans in the British never got involved in the Spanish Civil War. They would have much rather than Mussolini and Franco and Hitler smashed the anarchists on their own home soil.
