The Problem With Standardization

The idea of standardizing a curriculum is to say we want all students to emerge with the same set of school skills. That doesn't serve the student, right? We know that standardization is hurting a lot of people because there is an absurd number of students in American high schools and American colleges who cannot pass key classes.
