What's the Evidence of Basic Literacy?

There's not the kind of evidence of widespread am literacy on the part of adults and for children. In state funded am education, what would you actually rely on? You can a bit on inspection results. What has been the most significant change in british education over the last hundred years? And if you go on reading, what does that mean about writing? That's so i think the last question is probably quite, a, quite a tough one, but jus argue this again!
