A lot of the ways that people interact with this concept is through something like a JavaScript tracker on their website. It's not just the events that happen to get fired from the website, it's also the events that are triggered by the backend system that sends an email or the application. And so often systems aren't designed to be revenge driven. They might be, you know, a point in time systems you lose that ability to manage change of state. The first big, big step for for data is hearing when you take a data creation for a, you know,. you're almost like farm to table data.

Summary
A lot of the work that goes into data engineering is trying to make sense of the "data exhaust" from other applications and services. There is an undeniable amount of value and utility in that information, but it also introduces significant cost and time requirements. In this episode Nick King discusses how you can be intentional about data creation in your applications and services to reduce the friction and errors involved in building data products and ML applications.
