Ep. 65: John Lenin
The Re-Education with Eli Lake
John Lennon and the Primal Scream Therapy
In the late 60s in the early 70s new york is also ground zero for what became known as radical chic that's a concept from one of my favorite writers tom wolf. John lennon and yoko saw new york as an opportunity to live under less of a microscope even though they mean there's their super world famous you know celebrity is it but they kind of felt that they could get something of a normal life in new york. The british press are terrible they were racist and mean to yoko They kept blaming yoko for breaking up the beetles and they were nasty to her they called her ugly it was really bad.
