How to Remain Calm and Curious in Conflict
If you're in a state of complete reactivity, that's the wrong time to deal with the conflict. Deep belly breathing can help bring our nervous system down and get to a place where we can observe not just the other person but ourselves. Letting the person in front of us know that we're too triggered and that we really want to have the conversation is key. And by taking the steps to elongate that pause before responding, we're much more able to respond with intention.
