Nuno: Machine learning can be incredibly useful in that we all have biases and heuristics and blind spots. For me, personally, a big role of particularly the tactical algorithms is really about helping us fill in those blind spots. Danielle: How can I find out or discover companies that are entering this new world in a good way? Nuno: That means nothing. Until very recently, a lot of talk about artificial intelligence conjured dystopian images of Skynet, the Matrix, and HAL-9000 instead of a browser window answering homework questions or rendering bizarre reproductions of famous artwork.

However, the recent releases of some powerful AI tools has reframed the popular understanding of what AI really is, and the investing world has taken note. At times when technology takes an exponential leap forward, how can companies avoid being behind the curve?
