The Role of a Leader
You examined six leaders from the last century. Richard Nixon, Charles de Gaulle, Lee Kuan Yew, Margaret Thatcher and Anwar Sadat. Do you believe that history is made predominantly by great individuals like this or by vast impersonal forces? Obviously it's a mix of the two, but how important are the qualities and the character of the individuals at the moment? Of course, this is a debate that has gone on forever, whether they are objective forces or individuals.
