How Do We Know if Owls Were Night Owls?
If both sets of species have some trait in common, we can make a pretty strong inference that the common ancestor also had that condition. But if we weren't there to watch ancient owls hunt, how do we know that they did it at night? Sciencists also look at owl fossils. And owl fossils do some pretty strong clues that owls have been night owls for a long time.
