The Rise of Doctors
In ancient Greece, doctors would ask the gods for help with their illnesses. They'd then dream up a treatment plan that involved bathing in hot pools or cold pools and exercise. But they also had to overcome resistance from traditionalists like Hippocrates of Kos who thought sickness could be explained by changes in the body not only symptoms.
