Is There a Causality?
There is a lack of variability in emotion words and descriptions of emotional and feeling states in people who are suffering from depression. And it reminds me of the research, some of it that we did, too, that looked at depressed versus non-depressed people. So there's a collapsing of experience into like threatening versus non-threatening. There's very little in between because you haven't been tuning your perception to all sorts of things that happen in between that.
