The Origins of Clovis Points

In the last million years, humans were creating wooden spears which could have been used as javelins. This ability to hunt using javelins may have assisted our evolution to become expert throwers. By the late stone age, we had taken this stage further by the production of atletls,. These would allow humans to propel their spears even greater distances. The atletl is one of the first objects used for hunting purposes that humans would decorate. So it was not just one which was being used for hunting weapons, but also bone. And so we find the emergence of the well known clovis points from around 12 thousand years ago.
