I feel like everyone who grew up in the West has such a chip on our shoulders about the rest of the city. And then you go into the city and you find out, oh, no, not everyone's on the same footing as you. My biggest fear coming in was that people wouldn't understand my sense of humor or what I wrote wasn't sophisticated enough for a city audience. The comedy is starting to take me to what age you are when this is happening. I will be 15. So my first gig was at the Roxbury Hotel at 15 for a, like, quest for the best show,. That used to run in R.I.P.
