Aristotle's Table of Opposites

Heraclitus seems to have believed for one thing that everything arises from a kind of internal tension between opposing forces. We also have the evidence of the Pythagorean Table of Opposites from Aristotle, which we've unfortunately not had time to cover in our basic introduction to Pythagoras. This is a group of 10 pairs of opposites given by Aristotle in his metaphysics. He tells us that some of the Pythageans believe that numbers are the universal principles, but others believe they are opposites. These are limit and unlimited, which we saw in our discussion at Philolaus.
