Hayek and the Jewish Intelligentsia of Vienna
Hayek had not associated with Jewish people before. In a sense, it was a period when he discovered the Jewish intelligentsia of Vienna. His mother was disgusted by the fact that he was interacting with these people. He did some research to find out whether or not he was Jewish. Whether he had Jewish heritage. These are great people. They have knowledge of literatures that I have no knowledge of. But yeah, French and Italian and English literature. And his independence there. Just as you say, no dog. Hayek investigates things and tries to figure them out on his own and comes to his own conclusions.
