The Environmentally Friendly Space Force

The trebuchebe is the first environmentally friendly space force. It stores energy using gravitational potential energy and then releases it to launch something. So if you hold a heavy thing up, get storing energy by nature of if you just let go, it'll accelerate down till it hits something. The question here is can we put things in space environmentally friendly by just giving a big whack?
