Social anxiety is actually the fear of being humiliated, rejected or embarrassed in front of a group of people. So what it does is it creates this really intense fear, nervousness and overwhelm inside your body. You might start to feel shaky in your legs, nauseous, sweating, just generally feeling unwell like you can't cope with that social interaction so you then avoid it.
