The Fairy Ring
A door in the side of Gump Hill had opened. From the door came a dazzling display of colored lights. Every blade of grass seemed bright as a lantern, and every bush was like a sky full of stars. Behind them came servants with platters of precious metals, heaped with food. As they sang and served, the door on the hill opened once again. A group of fairies dressed in regal armor marched out holding aloft two thrones on golden poles. On the thrones, shining with beauty and dripping with jewels, came the king and queen of fairy land. They waved at their subjects as they sang and the fairies and goblins burst into applause.
