What Made You a Mother?
As i was writing the novel, my children were getting older, and i was coming to this understanding about all the things i was doing for them, that had nothing to do with the moment i gave birth. And so as i was writing this character, ho, kind of, she's very different from me, she's incredibly different from me. I thought, you know, in a lot of ways, thisis thing that i am doing. It made me feel really good to be able to give voice to people who can't give voice to themselves. Well, that is so much pain to hold. Oo, that that part of the story.
