Is Hacking Skills a Necessary Skill for Data Scientists?

i broke this into three big groups. One is you have to be competent in using developing software, what i referred to as hacking skills. The other piece of it was kind of the academic side. If you don't have that, ah, then you may simply be pointing a very powerful technical weapon at data and not actually know what's going on. And lastly, do you know how to ask good questions? No matter how much data analysis you do, if you're asking the wrong questions, you're kind of just no treading water.
