The emotional weight of Advent is on anticipation and waiting, what does it mean to be ready for Christ. So much of the Psalms is on the spiritual practice of waiting. And creatively, I think it's really helpful to allow sermon series on the incarnation to come from your reading life. John Calvin is also good at this as well.
