The Time Shifting Gimmick

Time shifting gimmick in general is this just something that is going to be in every Christopher Nolan movie now and will we look back upon that as a stylistic hallmark or a crutch? The first few times I saw the movie I didn't even realize they were going back in time. It took me the fourth time to actually realize that that seems pretty seamless filmmaking because it's never a question it was never a question I had. Do you guys like to be confused or disoriented when you're walking into a movie and saying like I don't really get like I can't put my finger on it but I can't figure out what this is?
