What Happens When a Child Cries Out?
The subject of pure need cries out. The adult being the adult that they are ideally hears it in the other room. Primary caregiver hears the cry and shows up. Usually with some ideas in mind about what's going to happen next. A child cries and the parent interprets that cry. In this model of child development, the meaning of the child's cry is determined by the primary caregiver.
