George Washington died on December 14, 1799 from a throat infection. He had lost most of his teeth which he had started losing in his early 20s. George Washington wore a pair of expensive customized dentures for most of his later life. Freemasons who were there to give George Washington his final ritualistic Masonic burial rights were invited by Martha and the family and wished by him before he passed.
