Hiboria is an age that exists between the fall of atlantis and the rise as we're told in the film of areus and o adont nov by arius. And so it's very easy, i think, when you use that world, robert e howard's fictional world, to generate something that'll have the qualities that lovecraft says are essential to weird fiction. This is what makes conan so fundamentally different from harry potter. The material they were drawing from to make this film lent itself to that generation of atmosphere that i think is so central to great fantasy.
