It is not unreasonable to suppose that conflict was taking place as far back as this time. Bronze production would have become a main stream aspect of the third millennium, b c e in the near east. Many large empires and kingdoms started to emerge in the second ium b c e. It wouldn't be until the following millennium that the assyrians would become mass producers of iron weaponry the late bronze age.
