i was talking to mark the other night and one of the points he made was that people say they believe things uh you know often but in the battlefield they believe we believe something else. There's a kind of false doubt about the fundamental undeniable aspects of our experience which is one way to talk about metaphysics it's a false doubt about sundry always already given metaphysical realities um this is true of free will as well yeah. i'm not talking about a second simplicity theergic mystical my will is folded into the will of the universe absence of free will that's not what i'm talking about it gets all in their own firingwe are meat machines that emerge through random causation in a meaningless
