The Importance of Medicaid Redeterminations
Sally Kohn: What is about to happen over the next few months might be one of the most significant things to happen in the last 20 years, at least in terms of coverage gains or losses. She says Medicaid has been a huge reason why people have gained coverage over time because it provided this like backstop for politicians to sort of get away with not doing universal reform. Kohn: In order to really actually control costs, there's not much fat to cut in the coverage and you have to start cutting out beneficiaries in order to lower that.
