The Importance of Balance in the Emergency Department
There are clinical prediction rules that exist to help determine how long a patient's concussion symptoms will last. Some of the elements that were most associated with ongoing symptoms were the elements that had to do with balance. There is a validated balance assessment that's part of the SCAT, the Sport Concussion Assessment.
