Do We Need to Show How Manipulation Motivates Historicism Anymore?
Mili's case is slightly different from the way she talked about Beth and Chuck. In Mili's original version of the case, you have these two philosophers and Beth who are both good philosophers but one Anne is a lot more industrious than other Beth. Their dean wants Beth to be more industrious like Anne so he hires neuroscientists to make Beth like Anne. So I don't know exactly how they do it, but they end up making it so that after the manipulation, which Beth didn'tknow was going to happen, now she's like got the same desire to work as hard as Anne.
