Blair's memoir Welcome to the God Dam Ice Cube chronicled how she became a musher in Norway and then finally moved to northern Wisconsin. Her descriptions of the challenges of living in extreme environments are as much about psychology as they are physical. As Blair said, her novel Small Game, which came out late last year, fictionalizes so much of her own wilderness experience.
