The Pew Research Center conducted a study on what you all think about reparations and 80% of you would not support such a thing. Critics said that the plan is illegal under federal and state law, which is true. But here's the deal. That might not matter. During the COVID pandemic, Congress and Joe Biden passed something called the American Rescue Plan. It was a $1.9 trillion federal bailout of cities and counties and states all around America for financial calamities. California could agree to a reparations program knowing that they couldn't pay for it, but they would still do it believing that at some point the federal government would likely step in and assume their debt.
