There is a wonderful book by kathy oneil called weapons of ma, math destruction. And she describes examples of how these kinds of decision making systems can go very, very wrong and lead to frightening policy. A another thing though, this it brought to mind to me, is i was reading a listening to an interview of roge cohen. You know who he is? Roge coen is, like a major power broker, lawyer at sullivan and cromwell. H he is brek balls heap in the bail outs in financial institutions.
