The Impact of Norman French on the Language of Lincolnshire

Over the next couple hundred years about 10, 12,000 Norman French words were brought in and you had to have three languages didn't you. Latin was the language of the church and the law French was thelanguage of power  and English was the language on the streets. In order to talk up and down across society you had to be trilingual so it's a massive input of language from the top again it's from the top isn't it.
