The Importance of Institutions in Modern Life

I think people are kind of lost, part of it's because politics in America at least, dominate everyone's life. And so the more political the world seems to be, and if the point of the world is by politics, then how can you not be despairing or cynical unless you're on the very top of it? So I think there's this sense of cynicism, at least in my experience in Washington. But you see this more pragmatically with my perhaps college students, people who, to be honest, should not be cynical or hopeless or despairing at all. How is that happening?
