The Challenges We Face Today and in the Future
Much of the humanitarian system is actually built and predicated upon responses that we did 70 years ago. The average sort of stay of a refugee, so to speak, or displacement of a refugee can be upwards towards 20 years. We have over 100 million people that are displaced right now. Most of them are being taken in by either low income countries or low or middle income countries. So we really need to think about what is that burden share or responsibility share across the world as we look into these challenges.
