The Capitol Gazette had been a fixture in Annapolis since before the American Revolution. The paper's bread and butter was less flashy stuff, like lacrosse rivalries between high schools. A well-known local Army veteran drowned while paddle boarding in the Chesapeake Bay on June 28th, 2018.
