The Story of Francis Crawley
Francis Crawley was wanted by New York City and Yonkers police for various crimes. After the murder of patrolman Fred Hirsch, both jurisdictions teamed up with Nassau County in the hunt for two gun Crawley. Billy Dunn began talking to a newspaper reporter called Joe O'Connor who agreed to pay him $1,000 if he could get his hands on Crawley's location. Helen later said Crawley had read all of the news to him because he was illiterate.
