Cystic fibrosis is a genetic disease that is diagnosed much more commonly in white populations than in black ones. But it is important to note that this is not because of race. In reality, the most common genetic mutation that causes cystic fibrosis arose in Europe. And as such, the disease is much more common amongst people of European descent.
