The History of Enterprise Architecture

Prior to the introduction of the computer, there really wasn't an enterprise alignment problem. The arrival of the computer changed all enterprises: factories and non-factories alike. It changed the way we interact with each other inside the enterprise. An enterprise alignment, more than anything else, is the fundamental problem of enterprise architecture.
