Occam's Avignon Period
In Avignon, Occam was free to basically do what he wanted while he was there so long as he stuck to Avignon. He also sat on a committee with five other people to review Occam's work and specifically his commentary on the sentences. Two reports were produced by the committee and their findings squarely pointed to Occam being out of step with accepted religious teachings of the time.
