The idea that Eru is a sort of detached and uninvolved God is wrong. There's a really good systematic analysis of Eru's involvement in Middle Earth. And so when Frodo and Co. make the voyage into the West at the end of the Lord of the Rings, they're making a fundamentally more supernatural voyage than Arfarsan and his army would be making in the second age.
