The Causal Principle Is False
There are many possibilities for why the causal principle could be false that don't commit us to thinking that there's just chaos, you know what I mean. For example, Graham Oppie has a causal principle he offers that's that all non-initial things that begin to exist have a cause. But those more restricted versions of the principle don't justify a denial of the broader principle that being cannot come from non-being,. That something cannot come from nothing. And so I wonder, would I be willing to stand before God on the judgment day and God were to say to me, why didn't you believe in me?
