The Album Years
The School Piano Is a Very Intimate Album
The title comes from an Auden poem I believe and sort of always saw it as being the daydreams the reveries if you like almost of a primary school teacher who's just at the piano. It has this incredible fragile innocence there's no sort of jazz extemporous isn't it? The sound design is such a strong part of it and everything seems to be happening slightly in the distance so the church bells children playing all of these things they're almost kind of coming through through the effortAlmost like memories nostalgic memories but very fond nostalgic memories through this layer of of time that's having passed.
