The Resurgent Puritanism of Vanessa Williams
Two readers wrote in to comment on Us Magazine's previous coverage of Vanessa Williams. The 1984 Miss America winner had been forced to give up her crown when nude photos she had posed for were published in Penthouse. In 1992, Williams had the Billboard number one single of the year, with Save the Best for Last. One perceives Williams as a talented person who should be commended for surviving unfair treatment and another suggests that anyone who poses nude is asking for public shaming.
