It's possible it was a through line that either ended up on the cutting room floor, or maybe the cash was supposed to be a joke. The way these things are foreshadowed delivers a final sequence that is so delightful, so very, very delightful. I don't think you need to read the other six dresden file novels in order to pick, pick this one up and enjoy it - i'll explain later.
